Fairbanks Morse H12-44TS
Santa Fe took delivery of the only three of these unique light road switchers in 1956. These FM diesels were essentially H12-44s with a steam generator specifically to keep the steam lines from freezing on cars being moved between 21st Street Coach Yard and Dearborn Station in Chicago. The customer has previously started a kitbash of this locomotive and had sourced the correct plastic handrails from an Atlas H16-44.

Alco Century 415
Alco’s unique 1960s center cab switcher is finally available in HO scale outside of brass! Five versions are available representing nearly every C-415 ever built. Each model has road-specific cab heights, steps, exhausts, fuel tanks, headlights, and roof details. These models use a custom printed chassis which rides on Kato Type B trucks, but I’ve also modeled Alco Hi-Ad side frames for those locomotives equipped with them.

Union Pacific M10002 Streamliner
One of my most complex locomotives to date, this classic streamliner is a must for any UP diehard! These units were actually connected together with a span bolster. I’m really happy with how the complex nose and turret contours came out.

Baldwin’s First Centipede
This model of Baldwin’s very first Centipede, demonstrator #6000, sits atop Broadway Limited Imports’ Centipede chassis. The front and rear trucks and pilot are modified to replicate the proper look and motion of the prototype. Two miniature ball bearings keep the pilots at the proper height while allowing for smooth swinging of the center trucks.

ALCO ‘Black Maria’
This unique trio of diesels were build by ALCO to counter EMD’s revolutionary FT locomotive. These HO shells sit on Bachmann’s ALCO FA-2/FB-2 chassis and feature exquisite grill and fan detail that would be impossible to reproduce in molded plastic.

Baldwin/Westinghouse ‘Blue Goose’ Turbine
No longer a digital-only model, this locomotive uses a powered truck at each end and a pair of dummy trucks in the center which can slide laterally. 3D printing technology allows for completely see-through grill work which would be difficult or impossible to achieve in a injection-molded plastic model.

EMD GM6C
This unique EMD electric locomotive could have changed the face of US freight railroading. The HO model rides on trucks from a Kato SD40-2. I was able to solder together brass handrails and melt them into the printed chassis with a soldering iron. The result is a scale set of handrails that are far more durable than their plastic counterparts without the use of any adhesive.

Rock Island #621 “Christine”
This unique DL-109 was rebuilt by EMD with two 567 prime movers, resulting in its distinctive bulge. HO shells representing both early and late variants are available to purchase for $59.00 directly from Tom, another model railroad 3D printing entrepreneur, who commissioned these models. You can contact him here. These shells fit over a Proto 1000 DL-109 chassis.
